Ms. Nikita Dhingan, BBA, II Yr

There is no better way to bring people together than with desserts

Shahi Tukra or Shahi Toast is a royal dessert straight from the culinary utopia of Hyderabad. This is a dessert from the old Hyderabad state which includes Marathi, Kannada and all Telugu regions ruled by Nizams and Qutub Shahi. Most popular in Hyderabad / Awadhi cuisine and it is usually served after the authentic regal meal.

Made by deep frying the bread, soaking it in sugar syrup and then drizzling it with thick luscious rabdi, this Hyderabadi delight is one of the best yet easy to make. These days many people try Shahi Tukra recipe with condensed milk or milkmaid which is really fine.

Shahi Tukra is a favourite dessert to make during festivals like Ramadan, Eid, Holi, and Diwali. A few similar desserts are Sheer Khurma, Rabdi, and Rice Kheer.
